Laureate of the Golden Lions and Special Award in Venice for "Tricks" - Andrzej Jakimowski - returns with a new film. "Once in November", inspired by real events, a moving story of the Warsaw family, taking place on the eve of a powerful patriotic demonstration on Independence Day. This time the author of the best directorial debut in Gdynia - "Squint the Eyes" from 2003 and the audience of the Warsaw Film Festival - "Imagine" - invited to participate in his film invited the unquestionable star of Polish cinema - Agata Kulza ("Ida", "Róża"). . Actors on the screen will be accompanied by Grzegorz Palkowski, known among others. from Łukasz Palkowski's "The Reserve" ("Gods") and also: Jacek Borusiński, Krzysztof Kiersznowski and Edward Hogg, the unforgettable Ian from "Imagine". Taken in "Once in November", documentary material was produced by the director and the operators, who were direct witnesses of the events of Independence Day of November 11, 2013. Adam Bajerski - the author of the photographs for all Jakimowski's earlier films - responds to the film. Tomas Rafa, an eminent reporter specializing in film accounts of riots, sometimes from the front line, for example in Slavic in Ukraine, was also photographed in street fighting sequences.

Marek (Grzegorz Palkowski) is just starting his law studies at the University of Warsaw. He has a beautiful and affectionate girlfriend, Ola (Alina Szewczyk). And every day I take care of my mother (Agata Kulesza) with whom she lives in a pre-war house. As a result of eviction, the family loses their roof over their heads, and exhausting wanderings begin after Warsaw - between one lodge and the other. In the end, Mark manages to negotiate a place in a squat in the city center. Happiness of heroes does not last long, because in the capital is just the beginning of the manifestation of independence. A group of aggressive hooligans are trying to enter a building where they find refuge. The events that will take place in the walls of the squat will capture the impossible to obliterate the stigma of the life of all heroes.

I would like us to see Warsaw without a film make-up. That's what it really is. Street scenes with heroes were performed in an authentic crowd. I depended on the realism of paintings, sometimes brutal. My protagonists have come up with the heights of patriotic feelings on a large scale as well as the acts of violence.
